Poetry by

Milos Petrovic

You are

Grinned with smells (odors)
Bathed with wines
Stretched in the valley of dreams

I am
Constantly broken
With eruptions of your smiles

     Kiss

We were lying on the cliff
Some snake was hailing
All the others

To hear us
To hug us

You were lying on me
Choosing what poem
To read you

I am bearing, once again
You are bearing, once again

The sun is looking a way to find us
We are waiting…

     *****

My voice is making you sleepy
You are sleeping into my eye-bags

You got awaken by fingers when they get cold

You’re putting-on in my liver
Covering with my heart
Ripping out my air into crystals
Poisoned like your promises

You are sleeping into my eye-bags
I can’t wake you up

I don’t want to wake you up

Gravid with a bird

I’m afraid that
I’m not going to have
Enough eyes to count the stars
When sky is going to spawn,
For the last time.

And then, when you’re gone
When all indecision (doubtfulness)
Of water comes
When you leave and say:

I wasn’t drunk by him,
It was wine

    *****

As a murderer
Who,
As they say,
Is always coming back
To the crime scene

So are you,
Coming back

To get something forgotten
And always purposely
Abandoned

Hello, my name is Milos Petrovic (24 years old). I am a poet and poetry performer (jazz & poetry sessions) from Serbia, former Yugoslavia (South Eastern Europe). I studied philosophy and Serbian language & literature in Belgrade. I have over 4000 poems that have not yet been published. I do not intend to publish any of my work here in Serbia any more, because conditions are very bad for self-governed artists of any kind.

In the year (1999)  when I finished high school, I published my first book and two years later my second book was out. I was declared as the most talented poetry writer in the last 25 years in my city. I won one national and several local poetry awards.
