A Seagull's Ballet

Above I see the seagull soar
through light of dawning day
taking wing in guidance of ocean's breeze
traveling through passage of time
in atmospheric ballet, accelerating
upward with full force and down again,

dipping

          diving

in full-winged strides
entering the vast expanse
plummeting to find its meal,
the act of survival between
bird and its prey
and then, it rises with force
in feathered stance 'oer tide and current
wing-span movements meet the sky again.

Clouds

I lay down on the lush, green grass
looking up at the celestial sky
watching clouds perform
as they go floating by

The sky's theater sets the stage
as clouds pass through
on their merry way
entertaining my eyes
with a wispy surprise
as I journey from earth
on mystical tours of billowy dreams
and marshmallow delight.

A castle that trails a rabbit's tail
attached to the wings of a butterfly,
a whale and a cat,
a baseball and bat take wing
as they shuttle on by.

A jungle safari with lions and bears
emerge from a cumulus cloud
migrating in motion to imaginative notions
embraced in a pillowy shroud.

Rhapsodies in white
and the fairest of blue,
pre-nuptial visions of tufted preludes
and painting a picture
within the minds eye,
I watch clouds perform
as they softly float by.

I write simply for enjoyment and if I can touch another reader's heart,
the happier I'll be.  I write about things that generally affect life...rage,
laughter, love, nature, passion, despair, expressing the ups and downs,
the joys and what-not's of whatever comes to mind at that moment
in time; that instantaneous feeling to pick up the pen and write,
whatever the mood, mode or utterance.

As past owner/editor of Celebrated Thoughts, I enjoyed very much,
reading, posting and meeting many talented and gifted writers from
around the world and back.
